Responsibilities
As a Roofer with Kagter Renovations Inc, you’ll be responsible for:
- Installing and Replacing Roofing Materials:
- This involves the installation or replacement of different roofing materials like asphalt shingles, wood shingles, masonry, and clay tiles specifically on sloped building roofs. It includes expertise in handling various materials to ensure proper installation and replacement, contributing to the structural integrity and aesthetics of the buildings.
- Applying Waterproof Coatings:
- Roofers are tasked with applying waterproof coatings on concrete or masonry surfaces, both above and below ground level. This skill is crucial in ensuring the durability and weather-resistance of the roofing structure.
- Working with Metal Roofs:
- Using a range of hand and power tools, roofers are responsible for installing and repairing metal roofs. This involves a high level of precision to ensure proper fitting and alignment of metal roofing materials.
- Installation of Sheet Metal Flashings:
- Roofers are expected to skillfully install sheet metal flashings, which are critical components for preventing water seepage and maintaining the integrity of the roof structure.
- Working with Various Roofing Systems:
- The role involves familiarity with different roofing systems, such as asphalt-saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel for built-up systems, single-ply waterproof sheet materials, and more. Roofers need to apply their expertise in working with these diverse systems for installation, repair, or replacement as needed.
- Reading Blueprints and Specifications:
- This responsibility involves the ability to interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications. It’s essential for understanding the specific requirements of each project and ensuring accurate execution of the roofing work.
- Erecting Scaffolding and Platforms:
- Roofers are responsible for setting up scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms necessary for safe and efficient execution of roofing tasks. This requires attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
